I chose to draw this Dormouse to expand my portfolio. I was also drawn to learn how to draw brambles and the background using mixed media.
Behind the scenes shows part of the layering process used to create drawings with coloured pencils. The paper used for this drawing is Clairefontaine Dark Grey Pastelmat Board, which has a harsh textured surface which requires multiple layers to be added to help fill and smooth the surface. Check the imagages below too reveal some of the stages I wwent through with this drawing.
