For as long as I can remember, animals have been at the heart of my creativity. What began as simple sketches has grown into Ace Artwork – a place where wildlife and pet portraits are brought to life through the detail and softness of colour pencil.
My goal has always been the same: to capture the personality, emotion, and quiet beauty of the animals we love. Whether it’s the gentle expression of a family pet or the striking presence of a wild creature, every portrait is created with patience, care, and a deep appreciation for the subject.
What inspires my work
I’m endlessly inspired by the textures and colours found in nature – the shine of a wet nose, the softness of fur, the intricate patterns in feathers. Colour pencil allows me to build these details slowly, layer by layer, until the animal feels almost alive on the page.
My process
Every portrait begins with a high‑quality reference photo. From there, I map out the structure, build the layers, and refine the details until the final piece reflects the character of the animal. It’s a process that takes time, but it’s one I truly love.
What you’ll find on this blog
This space will grow into a collection of behind‑the‑scenes insights, tips for choosing the perfect reference photo, updates on new artwork, and stories from the studio. Whether you’re an art lover, a pet owner, or simply curious about the process, I hope you’ll enjoy following along.
